Permits, schedule and build
Once the scope is agreed, permits are filed where required and the work is scheduled. One project manager coordinates the trades and keeps you informed.

How much preparation does painting really need?
More than most people expect, and it is the part that decides how long the finish lasts. Cleaning, scraping, patching, caulking and priming should all appear in the scope rather than being assumed.
How often does a Florida exterior need repainting?
Sun, humidity and driving rain shorten the life of an exterior finish compared with milder climates. The interval depends on the substrate, the previous product and the exposure of each elevation. Ask for the condition to be assessed rather than working from a fixed number.
Can cracks and stucco damage be repaired first?
Yes, and they should be. Painting over unrepaired cracks hides them briefly and they return. Ask for repairs to be itemized separately from the painting itself.
Do you paint cabinetry?
Cabinet finishing is possible but is a different process from wall painting, with more preparation and different products. Ask specifically about it so it is scoped and priced properly.
Who chooses the colours?
You do. Test samples on the actual walls and look at them in daylight and at night before committing, since colour shifts considerably with light and surface.
Do I need to leave the house during interior painting?
Usually not, though rooms being worked on will be unusable and furniture has to be moved or covered. Discuss ventilation and scheduling if anyone in the household is sensitive to fumes.
How is my furniture and landscaping protected?
Ask what protection is planned, who moves furniture and how exterior plants and paving are covered. Have it confirmed in the written scope.
Can painting be combined with other work?
Yes, and painting is normally sequenced near the end of a remodel, after dusty trades are finished. If other work is planned, mention it so the order is right.
How long does painting take?
It depends on the area, the amount of repair needed, drying times and, for exteriors, the weather. Ask for the expected sequence and what could extend it.
